Marex has unveiled its EMEA Emerging Markets Credit desk, marking a strategic expansion into sovereign and corporate debt markets. The hybrid model blends agency execution with selective principal risk-taking, targeting institutional clients seeking higher-yielding opportunities in North Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa, and parts of Asia.

Aaron Fernandes, Head of European and Asian Emerging Markets, leads the desk with a 25-year track record at Barclays and Jefferies. The team includes Matthew Vogel as Head of EM Strategy and Senior Trader Paul Timmons, who will deliver analyst-driven insights through a proprietary desk product.

The launch follows Marex's earlier establishment of a LATAM EM desk under Mike Rowe, signaling a coordinated push into emerging credit markets. The offering combines liquidity provision through balance sheet deployment with a white-glove service model for navigating complex debt instruments.
